Two types:
- Aerobic exercise
- Micro breaks: short breaks to relax, restore, re-nourish, gently stretch.( Remember; always check with your physician before starting a exercise routine.)
Reasons to stretch at work:
- Reduce muscle tension, stress;
- Increase alertness, productivity;
- Improve circulation;
- To feel better!
- If you stretch your co-workers just might try it, too.
Here are some things to do when stretching:
- Make slow movements.
- Hold the stretch for at least 5 seconds (10 is recommended).
- Experiment with slight variations in posture and movement to improve stretch effectiveness (especially with legs).
- Stretch frequently, especially when sitting or in other constrained environments.
