Without a doubt emergency response planning has garnered a tremendous amount of attention recently. Due to the inherent risks associated with colleges and universities, incidents involving employee injuries, chemical spills, and fire can and do happen. Diligent and effective emergency action plans can help reduce the frequency and severity of injuries to employees, faculty and students; protect the environment; and minimize the damage to the University’s property and image. EHS works with other departments to establish emergency plans and conduct and evaluate drills in conjunction with facilities.
